Ok, from MalaTwit (Mala Moragain) to WhitTwit (Whit Anderson), I have a few things to say about your recent BTVS venture.
#1. Clearly, as I call myself MalaTwit, I am not being outwordly mean in the WhitTwit reference as this is how I intend to relate info regarding fellow Twitter users. So, my apologies if it sounds unfriendly however, it seems very Twittingly Fitting.
#2. Fellow Joss Whedon fan here, so pardon me at this outburst, but honey, it's so gotta be said. The creators of the shows that we grow up loving are supposed to INSPIRE us to create our own fiction in life. It is NOT supposed to provide a venue for fans to rip off a good, original story line. I TOTALLY get that you're picking up on a show that you endear and I can respect that. However, it shows a serious lack of creativity on your part in that respect. I mean, to REMAKE Buffy?!?! It was hard enough to find a Buffy after Miss Swanson took the role in the movie, when it moved into a televised version, and you think this is going to be easy to do a third time? Let us face some realism here...
#3. There are other ways you could have jumped on the Buffy Bandwagon! Did you ever stop to consider creating your OWN SlayerVerse?? He left the series VERY open to any number of new slayers, as all girls became slayers!!! Why not create a NEW slayer who got dumped into an alternate universe through the Hellmouth or something?
Now, I'm not trying to knock you as a person. I am sure you are very likable. However, this is a slap in the face to any and all Buffy/JW fans around the world. And I'm sure I will hardly be the last one to offer a criticism on your venture into the BuffyVerse. So, I hope what I have to say is taken as constructive, rather than destructive because I hold BTVS in very high regard as one of my all time fave series. But something has got to be said. And I won't beg you to reconsider anything, however I am on the forefront of the boycott as I cannot bear to see some one take JW's ideas and bastardize them because they lack the encouragement to create something of her own. And if you are a bright girl, with a good head on your shoulders, you will try to avoid the media persecution that will follow if you continue with this bad idea.
So that is my attempt at being amicable. I hope it's taken in stride and that the people who know you personally will help to encourage you to follow your own ideas instead of ripping off some one else's.
